Exiles are young parts stuck in the time of their original wounding. Protectors work hard to keep exiles at bay lest the system be overwhelmed with the exile’s pain. But we don’t want to throw out the baby with the bathwater.  Our exiles also carry spontaneity, carefreeness, sensitivity, creativity, and joy. When our exiles are healed and unburdened, we can have access to these valuable qualities.
