Rumi wrote, “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”  IFS is a model of subtraction not addition.  We don’t need to build qualities so that we have a Self; Self is already there, complete, whole and unbroken.  We just need to ask our parts to separate from Self, like clouds parting to reveal the sun that is there.
