When a part overwhelms you with its energy of sadness or worry or fear or rage, breathe into Self. Ask the part to step back, to separate from you a little bit, or to pull its energy some of its back into itself. If the part doesn't do that, ask the part what it’s afraid would happen if it did step back. Validate that part’s fears. Find out ore about the fears, and reassure the part about how you're going to keep whatever they're concerned about from happening. Go slow.
